Noriega appeals extradition - 09 Sept 07

Former Panama President Manuel Noriega faces extradition to France after a seventeen year prison term in the US for drug offenses.

Noriega wants the US to return him to his homeland.

But as Lucia Newman reports from Panama, some people don't want him back.

Panama is in a nut shell, and to paraphrase "A land divided a world united", A land corrupt and a people divided" I lived there and it is very sad that the typical Panamian, who are great people, is still the victim of a corrput government. Glod bless each of them.

@Organicgreenbud He hasn't been in jail. Why? B/c my mom and I saw him in Hawaii at a steak restaurant in of Waikiki Beach. My mom swears on everything it was him, acne scars and all. He had a fat wad of $100 bills. This was in '96. He was suppose to be in jail in Miami. If someone could explain that, I would love to hear it!

Manuel Noriega is totally innocent. Noriega should be set free. He is just a old man now and is no harm to anyone.

@gracedigir Mr. Ignorant, is called a Treaty, The United States built the Canal, you guys HAVE TO protect us, is all part of the treaty, plus learn that what you call AMERICA is the UNITED STATES, America is a continent. Panamanians are TOO Americans- Central Americans. And USA protecting Panama doesn't change the fact that all they do is create monsters and then kill innocent people after not being able to control them; example - OSAMA, SADDAN, NORIEGA.
