  • OK In the ending the dude on the left looks like Ryo Sakazaki with his orange gi

also this ending is crao, I prefer the one where she comes back to life or is she alive here as you see her shed a tear IN A PHOTO?

  • @RodConvoy1987 Acclaim either bought the rights to the game or they were contracted to create the game for Nintendo. Many arcade ports in the 8-bit and 16-bit era were created by outside developers. Acclaim already created console titles. Taito may have not cared, had the funds, or expertise to create console games. This still sometimes happens today with PC to console ports and vice versa.

  • @digitalintent Ok. So how/why did Acclaim make the NES version?

  • @RodConvoy1987 Taito made Double Dragon I believe. The versions are so different because the NES has very limited capabilities (ram/cpu) compared to a dedicated arcade chip built to run a particular game.

  • you know you're a badass boss type when you have a palace that includes bottomless pits of death.

  • Never played the arcade version when it came out, or even tried to see it until just now. Only played the NES version from Acclaim, when it originally came out. Did Acclaim also make the arcade version? And why are the arcade and NES versions so totally different?

  • Thats right folks, happy endings for all!

  • Sprites ridiculously small, dull colors, boring platform sequences, a silly happy ending, and above all stupid cyberpunk atmosphere with gigantic helicopters, all mixed with a poor story-telling. NES Double dragon II is just a pile of shit compared to DD II arcade. Well, nintendo fanboys... I have a master system but I can not say that the SMS version of DD1 is better than the coin-op. I recently rediscovered the arcade version of DD2 and now I think that this is the best game of the series.

  • 7.20.88 FURI COLOR, in this date, I had 14 years old. melancolic game ending...

  • whether just for a simple final
