1/2: Aftermath of 2008 Disaster in Tennessee Valley and the TVA Cover Up (60 Minutes, CBS)

60 Minutes piece about the Tennessee Valley Authority (which produces power for the South-East United States) disaster in December, 2008, which is one of the biggest environmental disasters, super ceding the Exxon Valdez atrocity. The 'coal ash' that flooded Kingston, TN, contains numerous toxic chemicals (mercury, cadmium, et. al.). When dry, the ash is inhaled in the lungs.

There is little reporting on this matter, and much of the 'coal ash' has been covered up with golf courses and, who knows, new houses, sand-boxes for local schools? Completely outrageous. Nothing is being done about this, and, in fact, the EPA has declared the toxic ash as "safe". Aired on October 4, 2009, CBS.

The electricity from this series of power plants is funneled into the Paducah,KY breeder nuclear power plant. It produces enriched Uranium for the nuclear power industry. This is a waste of electricity.
