?? The boss gave him the rights to what is seemingly his favorite radio show. He can now manage them however he feels and reap the financial gains from it. He got a lot more then just a car ;)

I like the fact that it truly seems like Matthew has no problem with not getting a Miata. Why? Is he faking it?
And we see he isn't. And then we found out why. It's a brillaint twist. But that's what "NewsRadio" has always been all about. It was the world's first skit-based sit-com.
And Matthew's 180-degree turn is a must-see. When we see the genius/insanity in his stupidity, it's always as priceless as a childbirth.
