The song you mentioned in the KFC (formerly Kentucky Fried Chicken) advert, it was released that year, 1994 and KFC did rebrand in 1993. It also brought back its old slogan 'Finger Lickin Good' at around the time in one or two of its advertisements. By the way, I remember that promotional 'Bargain Bucket' one as well as the Kellogg's Fruit & Fibre ad filmed in a medieval setting.

Would that have been the launch ad campaign for KFC under its abbreviated name? (heh, by the time *that* playground chant became a hit a generation must have grown up who'd have been baffled by the bit about "Kentucky Fried Chicken" ...)

I think KFC rebranded during the summer of 1993, Robin; one of the ad breaks in the files I've uploaded from that era contains an ad that references the change in name - and also uses US3's "Cantaloop".
