My hood is Hintonburg Ottawa Ontario. A historic hidden gem it has something for everyone. True community spirit mixed with trendy upcoming places makes Hintonburg a great place to live, eat and shop.

A visit to Hintonburg would begin with a lovely home-style breakfast from Cozy's restaurant. The family run business has been the breakfast nook for the community for more than 20 years. For something lighter, head across the street for coffee and croissants at Alpha Soul Café, a newer and trendier café . For the morning shopper, FabGear 69 sells all types of retro and vintage 60's and 70's gear. Even if you are not a 60's paraphernalia collector, it is a terrific window shopping experience! If food and flowers are more of interest, the Parkdale Market is a must see! Local growers come together to sell their produce in a community oriented farmers market. If your looking for some afternoon fun, West Park Bowling is an old style bowling alley preserved from the 40's. Attached is a terrific great 60's Diner serving old style milkshakes ( juke boxes included!).

After working up an appetite sliding down bowling alleys and dancing to throwback tunes, there are many great places to eat in Hintonburg. If you like Vietnamese food, the Spring Roll Café is Hintonburg's finest. Recommendation? Their Pho (Vietnamese noodle soup) is to die for! If your looking for more of a burger and fries dinner, feel like a local at the Hintonburger. The Hintonburger has become quickly famous for its juicy ,fresh burgers.

To close the night, relax and enjoy a fantastic show at the new Great Canadian Theatre Company featuring local playwrights and actors. Trendy, cultural and a great way to finish off the evening!
