The Accutrigger is a simple mechanism.
You can see that the trigger pulls down and away from the sear, this gives the trigger a feeling of being lighter.
The silver portion of the Accu system is basically a safety device to catch the sear in case of an unintended release. That safety is critical.
What this Accutrigger really did for the gun industry was astonishing... Back before this came out - people were making guns with "Lawyer Triggers"... Triggers that were horrible and heavy so much so that it took real effort to pull one. Then Savage breaks this out... and guess what.
Savage didn't get sued like everyone feared.
Then all the sudden everyone realized Savage was the only company putting out a decent trigger from the factory. So everyone jumped on the bandwagon and started making decent triggers again.... yea!
What makes the accutrigger really worth while is the fact that you can adjust the trigger yourself, from light to heavy, without being a mechanic or a gunsmith or both. It's a simple mechanism.
