The Maples Family lost the precious life of Don Maples on July 8, 2010, the youngest of the six children of Ellis & Louise Maples. Don was one of the most joyful people I've ever known, always laughing and fun loving. On the golf course, Uncle Don could do it all. He could play with the best of them, often scoring 70-74 on most courses. He could also design, plan, & build. Don, with the help of his brother David, and a couple handful of dedicated men, could turn 250 acres of trees, sand, swamp, and dirt, into a golf course masterpiece. But more than the many accomplishments in golf, Don was a man of God. He was in fact, the single most inspirational influence in getting me in front of some solid bible preaching when I was 7 or 8 years old. His witness led to me trusting Christ as my Savior. Had it not been for his witness to me about Jesus, I shudder to think where I'd be today.
