This is Lea Salonga singing "I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Miserables during Broadway On Broadway 2007.

Please ignore the 12 foot tall bald man that kept getting in my way...

  • GREAT VOICE, HORRIBLE VIDEO QUALITY.

  • I'm sorry - this is the best my camera can do. You know, I don't remember anyone saying anywhere that you HAD to sit and watch YouTube!

  • well...guess its pretty hard not to ignore him!

  • right? I asked him to duck a couple of times...he just gave me the evil-eye!

  • Oh, please don't compare Lea Salonga to Susan Boyle. Lea is much much better. This video does not do her justice. Watch other videos of her, like when she sang On My Own at the 10th Anniversary Concert of Les Miserables. You can search for that, watch it, then let's see what you think.

  • Susan Boyle is nowhere close to lea.

  • lea salonga did the best version....

  • @l30l3nyc but we have the duty of commenting on how terrible the quality is :) jokes

  • In general, the 2 are amazing singers! They're individual vocal pipes and personalities give different interpretations to the song - and to the character. :)

  • Ms. Salonga on the other hand, she has a sweet voice. She's in her mid-30's but she can still sound 16. She has good control of her voice although (as seen in and heard in this video) she overdid the interpretation of the song that's why it sounds a bit forced. Listen to her low notes, that's beyond her vocal range, so it sounds off. Listen to her high notes, she oversung and so it sounded off too (not off-key ok?).

  • Ruthie Henshall is great and so is Lea Salonga. No need to fight over who owns this song or not. :) Ms. Henshall has as a different tone and quality to her voice. My only comment i guess is that her voice is not so linear. Powerful, yes, definitely, but she can't sustain the tone or timbre of her voice.

  • yeah. that was best video I've ever seen..

  • Lea Solonga OWN's this song. Listen to something that isn't taped from the 10th row of a high school auditorium. You idiot.
