  • O.V. WRIGHT DIED IN 1980 R.I.P.

  • Hi K.

It's a shame you couldn't make it to Memphis. I can tell you it was a very special weekend and it was great to meet all these great musicians. It's a pity I didn't film the speech of O.V.'s sister (that is about to start at the end of this clip). She told how proud she was of her younger brother and that he used to sing in public as a small kid. They would put him on a bail of cotton and he would move all the people to tears.

    Thanks for donating.

All the best from sunny Amsterdam

  • thanks for posting this. I was one of the (small time) donators (from europe) - so I couldn't be there but seeing this gathering is still heartwarming. and its great to realize, that this amzing singers voice still works its magic generations later.

warm regards to all the people who cared and made that possible, k.

  • People still remember. Yall shoulda invited the Rza from Wu Tang Clan. He owes his career to O.V. Wright. He sampled that mans voice and music to death. Inviting Rza woulda been cool.
