I think you're a little sensitive, personally. I don't think Jimmy is malicious or negative about the kid's race in any way, and I have to wonder if the exact same interview, word-for-word, were being conducted by non-white host (like one that was Latino or African-American), if you would even perceive any of it as "racist."
