This remains the most astonishing music I've ever heard. I’m a record producer, musician and singer best known for my work with Dream Theater. This music has had a profound affect on my ability to make meaningful musical contributions throughout my body of work ever since I was made aware of its existence 27 years ago.

Very cool. It's fascinating how many times this music has been "discovered" by Western musicians. For instance, a compilation of Bulgarian choral music was very popular in Laural Canyon in the late 1960s, and according to some writers, significantly influenced the harmonies of Crosby, Stills and Nash.

By the way, on my midwestconcertvideo channel, I have the kids of the Chicago School of Rock performing "Under A Glass Moon". Like to hear what you think of their performance.

I put this video on my favorites a long time ago, and I was going through my favorites playlist and was wondering why this was on the list. Once I listened to it again I remembered why. I wish it wasnt so hard to find genuine good music these days

If my memory serves me well, I remember reading about French musicologists having made this musical discovery widely available during the 1950's Almost like what our Smithsonian Museum features when these sort of things are rediscovered?

I've never heard music more immediately beautiful than the sounds these Bulgarian women make. There is a priceless clip of Kate Bush singing in a quartet with these women back during the eighties when she was really pushing herself vocally to expand herself vocally. She was required to sing the "drone" during a composition while the Bulgarian soloist sings around her. It was charming. The Bulgarian women were so encouraging and supportive. It was a joyous time for all of them you could tell.
