@Channel79productions @Channel79productions You did an awesome job! I used part of it on my late night RETRONTARIO DJ mix...link available on my main YT page

@MrMichaelChua The intro is actually "Masterpiece" by Grover Washington Jr. The Temptations version was used for a closing theme and some bumpers during the news. Maynard Ferguson's "Gonna fly now" was used for the early evening news. I remixed G.W.jr's version into the actual CP theme and now use it as a ringtone, along with the "BizFax" tune, Pentatnus (the later theme) and the CP mix of the Temptations "Masterpiece".

When I try to find the CityPulse cut of Masterpiece by The Temptations with the big horns on YouTube, I couldn't hear it. Can anybody try to find that cut and give me the length(s)?

RIP Mark Dailey

Can't believe the VO in this one is the late Mark Dailey…

@daamits I think you might of received some misinformation. CityTV still has those shows in their fall/spring 2012 lineup. Here is right from the CityTV website. CityNews Channel will be a seperate channel from CityTV. CityNews Channel will be available to digital cable subscribers this October. And cable wide in 2012. I cannot post the web link - but if you google - citynews channel - CityTV has their own article on the channel and fall lineup.
-
@daamits Unlikely. How is it that you're the only person who knows this? It would have been all over the news if true. If you saw it in a CBC story (back in May, huh?) post the link.
-
I heard that news last May on the CBC website. Also, most of Citytv's American programs, including Body of Proof, How I Met Your Mother, The Biggest Loser, Happy Endings, The Bachelor, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Rules of Engagement, Modern Family, Cougar Town, The Middle, Fringe, Hell's Kitchen and America's Funniest Home Videos have moved to CTV and its sister networks. As such, CTV won't have enough room on their schedules to fit all of those shows.
-
@daamits Where did you hear this? I'm under the impression, along with reports, and CRTC statements, I have read, is that CityTV, isn't going anywhere. They have been planning a CityNews Channel since 2008/9. From what I have heard, it is a separate channel, from CityTV. Very much like what CP24/CityTV relationship used to be.

Too bad Citytv is shutting down on August 31st. CKVU, CKEM and CKAL will all cease operations, while CITY will be converted into a cable-only news channel named "CityNews Channel". The remaining station, CHMI, has been sold to Bell Media and will be rebranded as CTV Two on September 1st.
Wasn't CITY on Channel 57?

That crash zoom may be mine! Either that or my colleague on the other crew. That was my camera position back in 1980...too weird to see it again...I miss Bill Cameron, too...

@danalee1000 Amazing! Do you by chance have any older openings? Bill Cameron was awesome.
