Johnny Herbert, who was at the wheel when the checkered flag of victory went down on Mazda's 787B in 1991, drove the 787B for the first time in 20 years at the Sarthe Circuit.

I love the downshift sound, is there an auto throttle blip or is it just that close to the rev limit sometimes?

This is what race cars should be. No paddle shifting sequential clutchless rubbish. In some of those shots it doesn't even look like the car has power steering, thats skilled driving. And that sound....... WOW.
Diesel powered race cars just don't cut it somehow.

What a machine. It is even more interesting to note that this sure sounds like he doens't have a no-lift shift and uses an h-pattern shifter. Seems like it's been forever that we've been treated to paddle shift and no-lift in race machines.
The car sounds like an angry cat. I could watch this video endlessly.

Love it!!!! Awesome video... what an incredible machine! Thanks for posting this. The premium 787B in GT5 is a blast to drive and is my fav car in the game. This was a thrill to watch! :-)
