Jewish groups supports Irvine 11, Muslim human rights protestors

Jewish Voice for Peace delivers signatures to orange County DA to oppose unprecedented criminalization of Muslim student human rights activists for protesting talk by Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren. These Muslim students face criminal charges for doing what students do on campuses across America every day- protesting polices they don't support. the students were already punished by UC Irvine before the District Attorney got involved 1 year later.

He was invited by the University. The students are members -core members- of the University. So, if they want to speak out as members of that community why a big deal? So, this Public University gets to not only control the speech but also the actions of it's Student population? And potentially give them a criminal record? Just because Israel doesn't have a constitution doesn' t mean "We the people" should abandon ours when an Israeli is in the room.

@dkjacinto conspiring they did email massages exist to prove it. i live in the community and i am phd student from lebenon moslem students needs to be reminded they are in a usa compus not in west bank fighting occupation, i want a civil attmospher to learn and conduct research all they do protest against us and israel. and disrupt peaceful coexistence between jews, christians and civil moslems, i never seen such behavior from other groups they must be stoped

Orange county protests were regarded as "exercise of freedom of speech", here they are posing as a doorway to oppression. I support them and anybody, irrespective of any caste, creed or religion for standing up for the right thing.

@dkjacinto they should have been charged with 1st degree floney hate speech. these people are radicalize pro hamas Arabs, not run of the mill moslem we meet in UC all the time i have meny of them as my classmate and i had them as my students. None of the moslems i meet ever go to events of this group. the only bridge these moslem students can make is bridge to violent conflict stop hiding behind rethoric of peace ur not a peace maker and you never be one

@dkjacinto justice applies to israeli Ambasodor too, 1st amendent rights dosent only apply to moslem students, we also have rights and need justice, lets not forget micheal oren is american born, where his justice. i disagree with u that hate speech is non violent form of resistence. remember moslem students had a patteren of hate speech well documented by media. what they did was very violent and disterbing. i disagree with DA on mistmeaner charge they should had been charged felony

@dkjacinto as a student in UC-ERVINE i demand stop to activities of moslem radicals on the campus , i further demand moslem students start a dialoge with jewish and christian groups supporters of israel in the university to prevent a repeat of events like arrest of my fellow students. we can all express our opinions without antagonizing other groups on the campus, we can be a bridge for peace.
