In this talk, developer John Coryat (of maps.huge.info and usnaviguide.com) will discuss the various techniques for creating custom maps in the Maps API, and the advantages and disadvantages of each. Demonstrations will include examples using a custom extension he wrote for overlaying images, and several examples of custom tile layers. This talk will be very useful for developers debating how to display large amounts of information on a map (especially polygonal data), or developers interested in creating custom maps from existing images.

Custom made maps are good, that is what makes Google Great.

Interesting topic, but the presentation is long winded. It would have been more helpful, if it were indexed. Also, the presenter is a bit full of himself.

wound be good if contents of presentation were indexed with times beside them so we could go directly to area of interest - great presentation tho

Another great seminar from the Geo0Dev series outlining the different ways to serve data over Google maps, outlining the pros & cons... And the best bit is that you can download all the code used in the video and hack away to your hearts content. Well done!
