This video reminds me of one of the life lessons that i got from drum corps. Where it seems like EVERY....SINGLE....DAY is full of exhaustion... but EVERY person in this video that looked ready to fall down and rest, ran back to their sets; they still snapped their horns up; they still just... did it.
And that's like life. You can't let your worries and pains get you down and distract you. You pick up your horn and you go. No questions. No whining. You do it. you'll love urself later 4 it

It really reminds me of why i loved drum corps and why i did volunteer so the next generation would be able to experience this activity

Right now my band in Canada are doing 3 weeks of 9-9 practices. We just finished our first day and many more to go. I love it and its amazing to be there with people who are ready to drop yet they just keep going and keep doing it. Thats real strength. My band is called Red Deer Royals Marching Showband. Really hard pushing and I plan to move to DCI hopefully in 2 years if i can get the money. :) (I would go next year but my band is going to worlds in Asia so i stay for that.)

I like the saying in the end of the video, it take real commitement and a special type of person to be in drum corps, it really does, its a mental stress just to get through tryouts

exactly, its easier if you love it so much, I so can't wait to be in drum corps, I'm already in marching band, but drum coprs is so much harder and funner, I can't wait!
Yea This video which we pulled from the feature length film Throw It Down really seems to strike a nerve. We all have those times when you just have to hang tough. Our crew was going through some of the same things this corps was feeling out there in the broiling sun. The big diff was that we got to go back to a nice cool hotel with nice cool beers and hot steaks !! Big diffrence when you don't get out of that Corps environment for the whole summer... John...
