Opening title sequence to the 1972-1974 "NBC Sunday Mystery Movie" series "Hec Ramsey." The opener embedded here, taken from the episode titled "The Green Feather Mystery" (December 1972), features Jerry Wallace's "The Ballad of Hec Ramsey," a song that wasn't commonly used to introduce the show.

  • richard boone himself thought Hec had a little Paladin in him. I remember when this came out and it sucked.

  • The Hec Ramsey character seemed to be about the same as Richard Boone's character in "The Shootest."

  • Jack Webb served as Executive Producer

  • Is that rex allen jr. singing the intro.

  • i am heck ramsey

  • Thanks so much for posting that. It was a neat detective western that alternated with mccloud and mcmillan and wife and columbo, playing about once a month.
