Ode to Joy, the Anthem of the European Union based on the final movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's 9th Symphony. Performed by the Vienna Philharmonic in May 1986.

Due to the multilingualism of the Union, the original German lyrics are not official. In 2004, Austrian composer Peter Roland proposed the Latin lyrics for the anthem. Latin is a former lingua franca in many European countries. For translations, visit http://www.hymnus-europae.at/

  • @MasterLouisSG I certainly do! A world with only one superstate is seriously flawed, there needs to be a balancing power.

  • @nationalistefr2 How the FUCK is it training european countries to be slave(s) (grammar helps alot) to China? The European Union is made up of 27 INDEPENDANT states that hold off on passport restrictions and allow a general commerce of supplies and people to occur. What the hell is your problem? You, as I have decided from your postings, ought to be locked up. (PS, i always do my homework before i get into a pissing contest with an idiot.)
