bass guitar with violin bow

i've seen some electric guitarists use a violin bow with their guitars and since then i've been interested in using them in other string instruments such as the bass guitar.

The stuff i was playing was nothing more than random notes so don't expect anything great or amazing. I don't want people cussing on me.

one time i was at long and mquade i brought my bass i saw a double bass with a bow while no one was looking i quickly used it on my hofner bass quietly so i didnt hear it

peter murphy did this in the 80s in a song called "cuts you up", it sounded pretty cool how they did it.

for this to sound good, you'll need to get some flatwound strings. that's what's on violin, upright bass, etc.

Try bowing over the pickups and use flats or halfround/grounds, they'll resonate better and give you a deeper tone.
