Ya, judging by the streams they were putting up that was definitly not a type 3 rig. LA city like every in Cali, sends strike teams to campaign fires. They are not "wildland rigs" but commentators may simply call them wildland crews beacause they see them on a brush fire and they lack familiarity with our jargon. & Wow, refuge in a chute under the bridge? Risky choice, very glad it paid off. Proof of the old saying: "God loves firefighters" (which is more a reference to the crap we get away w/)
@jlm993 The "crew" was E35 of LAFD and it was a type 1 rig, they had a firefighter cutoff on the west side of the bridge. This fire actually burned over them but that particular location under the bridge and on all sides is stone and rock. Earlier in the fight E76 had to cut and run leaving there rig on the trail just south of this location. The location of this fire is Aberdeen Canyon in Griffith Park. This was the beginning of the Griffith Park Fire 2007.
That's what happens when you have structural firefighters fighting wildland fires. iniquity, don't be as dumb as that engine crew was. It's just trees and grass, nothing worth getting killed for.
you spelled my name wrong. it's spelled "Helitak". Just so you know.

@devgru14 I fought fires for years, I have worked brush Wildfires where L.A. City Fire had strike teams on those fires.

@NewSurvivalSkills LA City doesn't do brush fires, they call in LA County for that.

@viewsonic362 it was a the crew of a type 3 wildland engine.
Opening sequence says so.Think before you speak. don't be so quick to judge them as "structural"
