@TheAwesome45 Yeah but surely if the Janitor was the actor in The fugitive - then his real name would be Neil Flynn - as named in the credits. Is he not just playing himself in an alternate reality where his acting career doesnt work out?

@AndylionNZ This is untrue. He was originally designed to be a figment of JD's imagination because they didn't expect the show to last more than one year. However, Dr. Cox refers to JD as Scooter (a nickname invented by The Janitor) so clearly he communicated with people beyond JD.

For the record the Janitor was a figment of JD's mind in the first season, but eventually became an actual person after that. Never in the first season does anybody acknowledge the Janitor because he didn't really exist.
