I love Shrewsbury... my home town.. I was born here at a very early age... I have lived here all my life... I love the people... it was here at the age of 6 that I started to listen to my mum's old 78's of Elvis... just see what effect it had on me when you listen to too many Elvis records...check out on Youtube... 'Elvis lives... again! ... Shrewsbury Golf Club'
God bless all Salopians!

i came here last spring with my school. i live in america, so it was a big deal. i loved it there. the homestay program is cool. though the lady who hosted me was not my favorite person. but i want to go back so bad!!!! it was so nice. he had the town crier yell for us when we marched from the castle to that one square...? i think its so cool he was Hagrid's body double for the Harry Potter movie. Tallest town crier is pretty cool. I wish i lived there

Darn it,. now you have made me homesick! To anyone who was at Kingsland Grange 51-56 and Shrewsbury School 56-61, all the best from John Harries.

Cross Hill - I used to sledge there too, and yes, my mum told me once that a bomb had dropped there and that some refugees from Liverpool were killed.

i cannot remember the name of the hill next to the scrappy . my brother and i used to get on the sledge and have hours of fun in the snow. young william now / used to own the house overlooking the scrappy.

I Was in Woppies yard with my Dad when I was a boy. A guy came up to Woppy holding a large ballrace. He asked the price, and, when he was told, said that's a bit expensive. With that,Woppy hurled the bearing into the scrapheapand,as it tinkled down the heap,

I remember him well! Also "young George" who used to pick up the scrap from the Sentinel works (Rolls-Royce) I can't recall "the Old Conk", but it sounds like a very apt description of myself!!!!!!!!.
