radiohead - true love waits (arr. christopher o'riley)

now that i've got a half-decent piano recording setup, i want to start posting more piano videos. this is christopher o'riley's arrangement of true love waits, from his album of the same name.

the recording process is something i'm still getting used to. it's a different sort of pressure than a live performance. there's also dealing with the frustration that comes with having to repeat the same piece multiple times, and not allowing that to come through in the music. this version here was the best of 20 takes, and there are still a few errors. my guess is that it would take something like 50-100 takes before i felt really comfortable with it, and would be able to get a recording i was happier with. if nothing else, it's a good way to learn a piece inside out.

@jaredaustinOCU thank you for the kind words. i'm actually working on 'there there' at the moment, and i wanted to give it more time to settle before i attempted recording it. i'll definitely take a look at 'i can't' next. eventually i'll work my through each one of his arrangements, i'm sure. they're just so much fun (:

@markgman1981 yeah it is a challenge! i've got it learned for the most part im just not as confident with it as i'd like to be to try recording it. i will give it a shot as soon as possible though

I like your voicing and the calmness you impart to this piece. Very different feel to it than O'Riley's performance.

did you buy the sheet music for this? I really would like to...but the entire book is rather expensive and the only songs I really want to play that are arranged by him are True Love Waits and Let Down. If you did buy the book, would it be possible to email a scan to me? I would be so incredibly appreciative...But If not...well, doing this by ear was damn impressive. Great job either way :)
