Cuba produced all kinds of goods.As a SPANISH COLONY and all the wealth stolen from all the indigenous people in South and Central America made its way to Havana. Cuba built Ships in the 1600's, exported sugar,cofee, beef, even fancy dress shoes. Healthy people built what you today see in Cuba, The Revolution is a FAILURE and the reason CUBANS look like they do now. JAMA

The people are hungry today in CUBA. LOOK up PANFILO , a Cuban looking for JAMA. Today Cubans jump on makeshift boats and rafts to escape the island. Prior to that people MIGRATED TO CUBA. Education: I've met a man just returned from living in Cuba for 7 years during which time he earned his Md FOR FREE. And yes, his degree is transferable to America, the UK &etc.

@bapyou your mis informed and History does not lie. The majority of buildings and roads predate the FAILED FIDEL REVOLUTION. The revolution has built a few ugly square apartments and thats it. The beautiful buildings in CUBA ALL predate 1950. The universities and medical system has in place prior to FIDEL and worked better then. Today Cuba is broken and in much need of MONEY and the reason they are pushing for more tourism dollars. Cuban people are great, its their leaders who are corrupt .

In 1990 Russia ended its aid to Cuba. Add to that the US blockade.

The fact that Cuba survives & hasn't been recolonized by American leeches of Cuban labor is a testament to a great and brave people.
