Try a beginner model by Hohner. Check out the YouTube videos by Adam Gussow and his website "Modern Harmonica blues." He has a page on his website on different models he recommends. One model he does not mention is the Hohner "Pocket Pal" which is an inexpensive good beginner model. The body is plastic and it is easy to play. The Marine Band is also a good alternative. The body is wood and it is better quality but also more expensive. I have one of each.

@wpaschal88 Harmonicas are very expensive actually, you need at least 12 to be able to play in all keys and they break all the time, so they need to be replaced

Hard to pay US $30 for a harp ... when I started they were US $2.00 ...

i have played harp for about 39 years now. started on the ubiquitous Marine band and then moved to Sp20 in the 70's. tried Big River and Golden Melody. went to Lee Oskars briefly. tried the cheep Huangs for a minute. tried Hering Vintage 1923's and actually have a couple in my case yet. still have a Sp20 or 2. went to Bushman Delta Frost for a time as well and still use them some. my current favorite harp is the Suzuki Manji. great volume and projection. but for a beginner try Sp20.
