BAND:AXIIUM
ALBUM:THE STORY THUS FAR [2004]

David Cook formed Axium in his junior year of high school alongside drummer Bobby Kerr. The band was originally called Red Eye, but they changed it because it sounded too much like Pink Eye. The first performance as Axium (actually spelled Axiom at the time) consisted of Cook, Kerr, as well as Matt McLaughlin on guitar and Drew Foss on bass. Foss was soon replaced by Anthony Mazzarella, and this lineup recorded an un-named 5 song demo. Cook and Kerr then went through a few bass players in search of the perfect band, but these two always stuck together. It was in May of 2001, that Cook and Kerr finally found Jeff Shrout. Since then, Bobby Kerr left the band, followed by David Cook.Axium was unable to find a new lead singer and disbanded in 2006.

  • DAVID COOK is by far the best american idol!

  • Yeah, he graduated in 2001 and I graduated in 2003. I hope he gets a bit of creative liberty with his career and isn't forced to do stuff other people write for him.

  • love this song its pure heaven!Dreznin ur so lucky for knowing david .

  • thats cooooooooolllll!! i wonder if any one at my high school will become famous. he was in plays and stuff right? andhe was a popular person.?? *blink blink* very ... interesting. XD (sorry bugging you so much. but i am in love with david cook, tell me when this starts to get annoying, you think to your self, "starts?") XD

  • Honestly, I'm not an American Idol fan, but found out he was on it when I found the audition clip online thanks to my friend Jeanna.

As far as Axiom/Axium goes, I'm only missing one CD. I have The Story Thus Far, Blindsided, and a 5-song demo they released through word of mouth their Senior year. Some people thought the last one was fake because they were all burned on Memorex brand CD-Rs, but I like to point out that artists don't usually autograph pirated copies (Kerr and Cook signed it).

  • Only from class and some mutual friends. The member of Axium I knew best was Bobby Kerr, his sister was in my graduating class and I had known her since middle school. DC and I traveled different circles, he was in the popular crowd (though not a prick), I was part of the freak/goth crowd back then (though I had friends in ever social clique). After 2001, I lost track of the band due to a name change (Axiom to Axium), but found a CD at the local 7th Heaven (music store) in 2004.

  • did you know him?

  • david cook was at your high school when you were there!? damn thats cool.

  • I love this song. Go david cook. you can get them from limewire.
