Song Of The High Country by Paul Sullivan

This terrific and lively piano composition of Paul Sullivan of Brooklin Maine is combined with various video shots of the country around Madison and Skowhegan Maine during the autumn of 1994. This was a class project for the New England School of Broadcasting. I wish I had used better quality VHS tapes because the color bleeding and degradation shows, although there is some impressionistic qualities in a way. I hope you enjoy this all the same.

Love PS's music. I have one tape of a CD that I listen to and each time it lifts up my spirit and is just a beautiful enjoyment of  my life. CD cover shows a man planting seeds. Can't recall the title.

Thank you for answering and emailing me, Amiduffer. Paul is a great pianist, and it was very smart of you to post him. I was reading all of the comments and your replies, and the last one mentioned Fairfield. Where is that??

That was a mistake. The concert was in Pittsfield. Fairfield is north of Waterville. I haven't been home in a while.

When I was DJ'ing at WMHB in Waterville around 1992-'95, he came to the station and did an interview with me for an upcoming concert he was giving in Pittsfield, which I attended. Other than that, no. He lives in a very remote area of the Maine coast and I live in California.

I have been to Maine a couple of times, up to Acadia NP and Bar Harbor, Belfast, Etc., and yes, you couldn't pry me away -- of course, I have never done winter there!!! And I feel terrible, because I just went on the River Music site and discovered that PS just put out an original jazz album! Can't wait to get it. FYI, Paul Winter Consort does play the west on occasion.  Maybe I will contact KUSC about sponsoring a show, or our local lite jazz station. Thanks again for this posting!
