why so lean? your guna need a new engine soon. i brake my engine in on realy short grass to gave them good tollerance to harsh conditions however having the engine set that lean makes me cringe.
-
u shouldnt keep changing throttle so much from slow to full throttle its not good for the engine

What are you doing? You should be on some concrete and you shouldn't be hitting full throttle even if it's just for a second. Everybody has there own way, but in my opinion your engine wont last much more than a gallon, two at most. Best of luck.

I hate to rain on your parade but I've never once had an engine failure and all my engines last well over 6 gallons including budget ones like the hpi engines. I have had RB engines last over 9 gallons before and still have decent compression and power. I have been into this hobby for well over 12 years and have owned probably 30 or so 1/8 scale buggies/truggies, 40-50 monster trucks as well as numerous other r/c's. I've never ONCE had an engine failure.

If you read the info on this video you will see that I heat cycled the first two tanks. If you look up break in methods you will see the heat cycle method as the number ONE favorite break in by all the top pros and engine modders/tuners. Even sponsored pros get well over 5 gallons through their engines and most of them heat cycle a tank or two at most and then race tune it from there.

I have right at about 12 tanks through it now and the engine has picked up a little more power since it's about broken in now. In this video it was running at 190 degrees. I will upload a lot better quality videos pretty soon. The ones I have already posted were from a digital camera and the new ones will actually be from a camcorder so they should be tons better.... :-)
