This song is a tribute to Jeff Buckley, who died in 1997. Many artist have written songs about him since his death. Ranging from Chris Cornell to Rufus Wainwright. This is a great song for a great artist that died all too soon. R.I.P. Jeff...

It is interesting to hear that this was written for Jeff Buckley. I actually like the fact that it is not very specific in the lyrics about who it is. It could be for a lover, a father or grandfather, or just a friend. It makes you wonder who it is about. I kind of imagined an older relative. But it was Jeff Buckley. But it really is open enough for a lot of people to feel that they can relate it to their own lives, like a good love song.
