The SpectrAlert Advance MHW is a fire alarm piezo-horn, designed for use in hotel rooms, apartments, dorm rooms, etc. On the back it has four settings, (1) code-3 high, (2) code-3 low, (3) continuous high, (4) continuous low (in this video its set on 3). It runs off of 12 or 24 volts DC, and auto-selects based on which voltage is applied (its running off of ~20 volts in this video). http://systemsensor.com/html/avn.html?UniqueID=313

  • This thing seems loud, but I read the data sheets. And 70dB @ 10 ft is not loud at all. Nice vids, BTW! Keep 'em comin'!

  • Yeah, although I don't know why System Sensor would understate the decibel values in the data sheet, I've got to wonder about them. To me, this thing is as loud if not louder as your standard 85 dB smoke alarm (especially at 24 volts).
