Either the biggest mass suicide in recent times or the biggest look alike mass suicide in recent times. The truth lies out there but there is a possiblity that Jonestown had been raided that night.

Religion claims there is a better existence after this one. By doing so, it DEVALUES this life. All the world religions do this. Heaven makes Earth appear like garbage and Reincarnation makes this life cheap.

Atheism suggests that this is our only life. That makes this life MOST valuable. We should use it wisely and appreciate it. It is brave and honest.

I feel so sorry for those children. I wish those adults had a better access to education. Religion preys on the poor and stupid.

Religion doesn't claim there's a better life than this one, christianity and the islam do. That's not the same. Religion is far more than that, religion is the way you think, hell I even think Atheism is a religion.

Education doesn't solve everything, what if the education is corrupt? It's the exact same thing, you've got to trust your surroundings, your opinion will always be based on what you know, not on 'the truth'.

How about if that person was named "Jesus Christ" and lived 2000 years ago? Is it any more reasonable to believe that than to believe the same about Jim Jones?
