This is from the Super 8 movie festival "Attack of the 50ft reels" It is a short film about my feelings of the discontinuation of production and processing of Kodachrome film. The music is by Spiderworks and the track is titled "Cherry Blossoms." The still frames I shot in the camera I am shown shooting can be found in my Flickr.com feed. Just search for kq6up in flickr.

  • This is GREAT!

Kodachrome has a look and feel, that even if they recreate the emulsion, i don't think it will be the same. Like a factory remaking Stradivarius violins perfectly.

    It cannot be the same.

I'm sure you can still get Kodachrome developed, somewhere. Though I haven't found anywhere.

I just love taking photos, i won't say i have spates of "depression", but just unhappiness, and going out with a roll of HP5 (and camera of course) cures me, and calms me down.

  • Well done. Thanks for sharing this film. -tom from Kodak

  • Awesome, I never got to use it, but i guess Im born into the digital age

  • :( aww, i just found out today that it was being dicontinued. Im gutted!

Liked your video by the way, it showed off the beauty of Kodachrome really well

  • This is fab. Thanks for shooting it, and for saying it.

  • Superb commentary, you hit the nail on the head by saying kodachrome links back to your childhood. Yes it links me back to the past, childhood memories and long departed friends and family.
