  • is it racist for me to expect their lyrics to be in haiku form?

  • If it wasn't for this band we wouldn't have La Dispute as we know it today.

  • SCEAMO SUCKS DICK

  • Envy > the rest

  • don't make a link, envy stand alone

  • So emotional.

  • and they're coming to my little northern town in March. I have put just about everything on hold for it. Have you ever psyched yourself about a concert so bad you dream about how brilliant it will be?

  • @RadBrad13 Both absolutely amazing bands.

  • @henry5252515 Yes, in that context you would say "my class is big," but you aren't using it in the same context as Envy was used in my previous reply. You can say "the class is large" because you're referring to the class itself, not the students within the class. You would say "the class are going to be fixing bicycles next week for a project" because you're referring to the students within the class.

It doesn't sound right, but that's the correct English for it.

  • @xipanicxi actually both can work I think. A band can also be counted as one 'thing', just like a class a school. Eg. my class in highschool is pretty big.

  • @oginomusic That's the correct way to say it. Envy is a band comprised of multiple people, so you could swap "Envy" with "they" and it would be correct as is. As with any group of people, it's going to be "xxxxx are," not "xxxxx is."
