Drag Race Wild Postal Jeep

My 1973 Postal delivery Jeep - converted into a V-8 powered drag racer with a 355 s/b Chevy, (Double-Hump)2.02/1.60 heads, Powerglide Trans, 9.0:1 C/R, original Dana-44 rear end with 3.73 gears & Mini-spool. 8 x 26 M/T ET Streets. Engine was Built by Bell Performance Engines of Valley Center KS, Owner/Driver - Scott "BiGBoY" Smith. Dragstrip - Wichita International Raceway, Wichita Kansas.
Best 1/4 mile ET. 12.04 @ 109mph.

Holy shiz! 102mph in a Jeep!? My TJ is 30 years newer than that one and I start to get nervous anywhere above 80... of course its lifted and has 33s but damn that's fast for a aerodynamically challenged rolling bread box.

@lovedavdubs It was definitely a handfull mainly because of its super short wheelbase. I sold it to another guy in 2005, and he replaced my little 355 sb with a 468ci BB chevy. If you can believe that? Not sure if there is any video of it running with that engine? But I do know that it ran in the 11's at 115mph or so. Then later that same year it got out of shape on a pass, and crashed into the gaurd rail at the same drag strip in this video, and then was later completely disasssembled.

SeventyGTX- It NEVER had "The Juice" on it - All performance improvement's you see in the video as time went on were achieved with the following changes: a carburator change, rear gear change, Stall converter change, header tube size and collector length changes & exhaust system.
