Our products are now sold through JeepinByAl under the name 4xGuard. They are only for 2005+ model years. Russ

  • I am anxious as well. I did get it out in the San Juans last summer and found it fantastic in all respects. I will do some more difficult trails this spring in the Moab area. It has been our workhorse--now halfway on a 2500 mile travel-trailer pulling trip to south Texas. Average mpg just under 13, which is great IMO.

  • If you are aware of our business---4xGuard--you are aware that we are strong advocates for the WK/XK capabilities. They are amazing. Thanks for looking.

  • Also the H1's are IFS and IRS a well built 4wd system is what counts, plus independent suspension doesn't have a pumpkin and driveshaft hanging down as much, both have there perks.

  • Hmm, well the quadradrive II system uses the abs to control the tires that are slipping! Wj with quadradrive I does not use the abs, so these 4wd systems are way different!

  • QDI works alright when the clutch packs are new and when you have 31" or smaller tires. I've seen the frustrated and disappointed looks of friends when their QDI-equipped WJs with 32"+ tires spun a loose tire while the alternate tire received no power (applying brakes can help in this situation).

So, strictly speaking, you probably could take a stock WJ with functioning QD1 and stock or slightly larger tires up Tipover Challenge.

  • A stock ZJ or WJ will find this obstacle extremely challenging. If you don't know how to drag your brake pedal to control wheel spin you won't make it up tipover challenge.

WIth a QDII-equipped WK like Russ' you just walk right up.

  • Looks good Russ but i want to see the CRD in action..
