They were certainly making a mountain out of a mole hill! Huge oil slick? threat to wildlife? it was like 100 meters long, pretty small oil slick to cause any significant damage.
You canadians are in bad shape mentally, aren't you?

the Mayor denies the truth? no surprises there... the company responsible for this outrageous abuse of our environment has had many such "mishaps" in the past and should be made to close shop after paying for ALL the damage, including all the ruined homes and houses that will now have to be demolished, not to mention all the families that will remain forever unable to garden or even grow flowers... stupid does not even begin to cover this fully preventable catastrophe.
