  • the irony is that the start of heat two was far worse

Ebdon could be a decent ref when all riders wanted to play ball and it was in everyones interests to get on with a meeting... but he could also create issues

  • i bet when he looks back now ,, as he has now grown up he must think why did i do that ..

but i must say that i do agree with mike a bit cuz back in 84 it was very harsh to be excludsed just for slightly touchuing the tapes . it was a very hard rule in those days when riders were used to rolling n rolling at starts....

just imagine if they allowed rollin again todays riders bought up on standing still would find it unfair if a new rider who had rolled beat them off the start!

  • john cook was my fav rider how funny cook making hand signals come on and catch me

  • Shaftlet - Agree totally. The guy couldn't adapt. Whatever you think of the motionless start, they were the rules and he acted like an utter blouse when others just got on with it. Still, he won it all as a rider, but still saw fit to act like a five year old on the track. I can only go on a wikipedia report of his misdemeanour, but riding the opposite direction, into oncoming riders sounds like pretty miserable behaviour.

    What really happened?

  • If "Tiger" Louis is 43 in this video, that makes it 1984....and I'm probably standing somewhere on the back straight there at Foxhall stadium ....those were the days.

  • lee was one of the biggest talents in world speedway, but his head got too big for his helmet, he thought he was untouchable and when referees penalised him he took it as victimising him. waisted talent !!!!!!!!!!!!!
