This is a short video documenting the creation of John's Heart for Heroes & Hearts 2010. This is an amazing event held in San Francisco each year to benefit the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation and to celebrate local artists and individuals making contributions to the community. You can learn more about John's art at http://www.johnkraft.com and more about Heroes & Hearts 2010 at http://www.sfghf.net/hh The song, "Slip to You", is from my new CD "Racing the Moon" available on iTunes. • Really beautiful work ... but can you please tell me the name of the song?

  • Thanks for the feedback! The song is "Slip to You" from my new CD "Racing the Moon" available on iTunes. Just search "John Kraft" on the iTunes store. Thanks!

  • Very cool!

I think I saw something like this at Momo's if I'm not mistaken?? Anyway, love the piece, great work!!!

  • You're exactly right. The one at Momo's near the ballpark is very cool. That one has a Martini theme. All the proceeds from the sale of these hearts goes to the SF General Hospital Foundation - and it's a great vehicle for SF artists to contribute to public art in SF.

  • Thanks for the question.... The Heart itself is made of fiberglass over a steel frame. Made by a company in California exclusively for the SF Heroes and Hearts project.

  • Thank you, Susan!

  • Nice Work!

  • What's the material of the heart? Where was it made?

  • Reminds me of the Penguins around Tulsa. A few years ago, to raise money for our zoo, the city sold penguins about the size of your heart and various artists painted them. They are still up outside and inside many businesses around Tulsa. Even though I used to paint quite a bit, i can't believe you did all that without using tape of any kind! The song is cool too! I need to go out and look at your new book.
