Rep. George Miller, Chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and Labor, questions witnesses at a hearing concerning child abuse and deceptive marketing by residential programs for teens on April 24, 2008.
what needs to happen is that these places need to be exposed. there is no debate to be had - they are child abuse rings.
when that gets out to the public and politicians it will all be over.
in all of these vides, you see people who look completely shocked, with their jaws hanging to the floor. all of these people know what a teen 'rehab' is, its a household concept, but NOBODY knows about the abuse that goes on.
These coerced "Moral Inventories" continue in state licensed facilities in Texas. Children are forced to embelish their wrongdoings in order to be released. Polygraphs are given to the children to determine if they are being truthful. If a child fails the polygraph, they cannot advance in the program.
Children are berated, cursed, called deviants, child molestors, rapists, etc.; these are children who have not been charged or convicted of a crime.
unbelievable.
