Was a great place to grow up in,back in the 60's and 70's. I've a lot of good memories. Problem with Cumbernauld is that it became too big and scattered. It lost its identity,it should never have been changed to part of North Lanarkshire ? that was a bad idea.It should have been taken into Stirlingshire or stayed Dumbartonshire,but definately not North Lanarkshire. The Town Centre pre phase 4 was a great place to play in as a kid on Sundays :-)

cumbernauld = shitehole. well atleast when i was there it was.Don't get me wrong there are nice parts, but constant living in fear with all of those faggy wee neds.

Not a bad coverage there, would have liked to see comments from all age ranges though, and noyt just the elderly residents. Good job, Liked the fact that you were unbiased, and allowed the conclusion to unfold itself.

I agree with what the old fella was saying about most of the residents of Abronhill being unfriendly and wary of strangers. Thats very true and I'm not sure why it's like that.
Some of my neighbours (of 13 years) wouldn't say hello if I bumped into them in the middle of the desert.
