Before invading Poland, Germany signed the Nazi-Soviet Nonaggression Pact, securing the eastern border of Germany. Limited trade, mostly on the part of the Russians, was part of the agreement. But everyone involved knew that it was a measure on both sides to buy time. Ideologically, both nations despised the other. Hitler had devoted much of Mein Kampf to his believe in the menace of Communism. Nazism was against everything Communism stood for.

Part of the operational planning of the German high command involved a possible invasion of the Soviet Union. On July 21, a month after the fall of France, Hitler summoned Generalfeldmarshal Walther von Brauchitsch and instructed him to plan for an invasion of the Soviet Union

  • @christof139 I very much doubt the US built 70k ships but whatever supplies of war material from the US were decisive.

  • @fangthefeared Other than tens, if not hundreds of thousands of Soviet citizens murdered in the purges by the NKVD - which continued during the war!

  • It really does amaze me how a country such as Russia could ever forgive Germany for what it did.

  • @local1114 well fuck their retalliation. At least have the dignity not to target women and children for sadistic pleasure. The Germans did butcher the soviet Union but without personal gratification. And that is why the Aryans hammered the shit out of them dirty slavs. Go to 8:00 and see what I mean -

These fucking slavs are low life scum, it reflects in their language and dialect. It sounds as if it were made by a half drunk/ half retarded peasant worker on a night out.

  • @llenllenllenl your foolish and pussy. There is nothing wrong with war. It is the beauty of nature. Executing your own people for running....THAT is bad. Its their instinct to run from greater force.....but overtaking other countries

Ant colonies always war with each other. Don't ever think we're above ants, we sympathize to the same natural order.

  • Human beings are immoral and insane.

  • @alanheath which is why Russian soldiers looted from stores and raped German women when they entered Berlin. To revenge on the Germans and have vengeance, it was basically retaliation and mass retaliation

  • wow that nkvd dude makes ss look normal

  • @UnitedKorean There was no benefit to be had in the Japanese-German alliance, for one thing Germany could had avoided war with America if it hadn't allied with Tokyo. The two countries were too far away to support each other, unlike the US with Britain, and the Japanese weren't interested in diverting the Russians for Hitler. It was a stupid gesture that end costing Hitler the war.

  • @lodhol Could You give any arguments or sources? Basing on my informations, he really wanted war to stop Hitler. USA was provoking Germany as much as they could. Check Operation Plan 6-41 from 19 July, by US fleet admiral - E. King, and it's later modifications. Check "Rainbow 5" plan (prepared in mid-41', exposed 4th Deceber 41') proposal of invasion on Nazi Germany in 43'. Roosevelt greatly wanted war, but he didn't want to be agressor, because there was no support for it in society.

  • @Florek112 you are right about most of things that you said, but FDR never wanted to go to war with germany. And if Hitler didnt declared war or US,America would never went to war in europe

  • @tripper85 US was supplying Soviet Union already after Barbarossa, before Pearl Harbor. US was supplying Great Britain, and delivering them warships. US destroyers were even sometimes fighting U-boots on Atlantic. Roosevelt was looking for a way to join the war, but he didn't have support in society. US did almost everything to provoke Japan. Embargo imposed on them meant that war is a matter of time, and US politicians knew it. So propably, they would declare war on Germany after PH.
