  • installed new caliper, now leaking along brass washer on banjo nut between lines and caliper, does the hole have to be properly align?

  • @jumpa01 Thanks for your reply. If my brakes ever seize again, I will definitely look into the two rubber hoses you were talking about. Due to wrong diagnosis, I also used to mistakenly change parts which were not giving me any problems at all. I look at it philosophically : I can still keep the good parts that were mistakenly replaced and use it one day. So your two calipers + 4 shoes + brake cleaner are really not wasted.

  • @opsvideo2008 As soon as I changed those two rubber hoses that connect to the brake lines in the front fender wells the brakes were once again fine

  • @jellykelly696 You nailed it Jelly it was the rubba hoses they have a built in check valve and the fluid wouldn't return from the cylinder for like 20 minutes each push. As soon as I changed those two rubber hoses that connect to the brake lines in the front fender well the brakes were once again awesome .I just wish I did those first instead of spending a hundred bucks on two calipers 4 shoes + brake cleaner and a gallon of Dot-3 that's what I get for not listening to my Bro ...

  • @jumpa01 Your comments may be already two years old but for other youtubers who have the same problem of sticking/seizing brakes like yours, I like to share the solution I found. I replaced my brake master cylinder because it's piston was not functioning properly and also the brake pedal was drooping onto the floor. Then I removed my car wheels and sprayed STP brake cleaner generously on all the brake caliper components without disassembling them. My brakes no longer stick/seized.

  • The guy should have worn rubber or nitrile gloves to protect his hands from the brake fluid. Other than that, this a good video. Thanks for sharing it.

  • @unlockthepower No there wont be much coming out since there is no pressure being applied anjd your car is off so you have no break booster. Fluid will leak a bit if your steel hose is coming from the top and points downwards when disconnecting. This will leak because of gravity. Once that is out, no more leaking.

  • Thanks. Do you need to isolate the brake fluid first before disconecting the pipe?

  • informative video; thanks. like the way you summarize the video.
