What's Stupid About Bottled Water?

Some politicians have called drinking bottled water "stupid" and "reckless", but where do those same people turn when a natural disaster strikes? To the same industry they condemn: bottled water.

There's a difference between saying "buying bottled water for everyday consumption is wasteful" and "bottled water has absolutely no good uses ever, not even in disasters".

Smart people assert the former, not the latter. Sure, bottled water is essential in some rare contexts, and should always be available for these. In the contexts where it is predominantly sold, however, it is not essential. It's a waste, it's a rip-off, it's lazy and stupid.

We'd be without countless tons of plastic polluting our natural ware sources. Like previous posters have said, there's a difference between drinking a free resource from a needless plastic container and transporting and supplying water to those who have no other way of obtaining it.

No one is saying bottled water is bad, We're saying their is no need to buy the shit over regular tap water. There is NO difference in bottled water vs Tap water. NO extra bacteria, Nothing.

Contacting Ray Bolger. (strawman) This video misses the point. 99.9% of the time tap water is perfectly safe and better in the long run. However in disasters and famine relife bottled is better becuse it is the only real option. However the billions of bottles that pile up every year are mostly from people who think tap water is dangerous or tastes bad, which all studies say is BS. Get a water filter and cut down on waste.
