In early June 2007 Dave Lewison and I flew back out to tornado alley for a quick spot chase and met up with fellow Canadian storm chasers, Mark Robinson & George Kourounis. This was the last day of that chase trip and after parting ways with George and Mark, we encountered a dying supercell thunderstorm near McCook, NE on the evening of June 8th. We followed this storm until after sunset, and were treated to an amazing lightning display just outside the town of McCook. We stayed the night in McCook and then continued back on towards Denver where we hopped our flight back to NYC.

Hope you enjoy the video!

  • Last year, out in Strafford TX, I saw quite a display. There was so much lightning it was like strobe lights going off.

Great video. I'm glad you posted. :-)

  • @Clavichordist I LOVE storms like that!!! Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks so much for watching!

  • Man, am I glad I found this channel! Subscribed. Oddly, nothing puts me to sleep faster than a good thunderstorm (unless, of course, a big ol' sockdolager hits nearby). I wish I had the equipment to make my own videos of them. Here in the Ottawa Valley we sometimes get GREEN and PURPLE lightning, but I'm not sure if it's the lightning itself or atmospheric conditions, as the Valley is a temperature inversion zone. We sure get some nasty cells, sometimes, too.

  • @rogerstill71 Thanks so much for subscribing!! And like you, I do find storms soothing..but then I usually get amped up and have to go outside to film them from my front porch if they are coming through late at night lol. Thanks again for checking out my videos! All the best to you

I've seen some wild weather around where I live, and it actually knocked my electricity out! My dad and I went out on the search for the source of the power outage, but the search, unfortunately, was a bust. We didn't find the source, but during a nighttime power outage, my dad and I went out on the search for THAT power outage's source, and THAT search was a hit. We did other searches for damage other years and found multiple traces of damage.

  • @uragan97 Thanks!!

  • Super
