jackson county pacific greens, ashland wilpf and phronesis of sou sponsored a forum on the mt. ashland watershed and impacts of the possible ski expansion. this community forum most specifically addresses landslide potential called Qls, or quarternary landslide deposits, due to decomposed granitic soil. new lidar mapping; 3d imagery as used by the oregon state department of geology to measure "the distribution quantity and quality of groundwater resources and the distribution of terrain susceptible to landslides". by this process foliage is removed and land density can be mapped. according to nepa, significant new information should be considered, no matter when in the eis process. it is imperative that this new information be included. a second concern is the m.a.a. sewer system which sits in the pathway of ashland's water as it travels down the mountain. if these are your concerns please contact scott conroy u.s. forest service, medford,or. number 3 in series. The soil scientist DVD is at the reference desk at the Ashland Public library titled "Mt. Ashland Science Panel". oregon's department of geology and mineral industries (dogami) changed "landslide deposits" to "glacial deposits" 12/2011
