So my question is, are you aware of any product, Cricut or other, that allows you to cut pictures from say Word Art, or say a drawing you made on a tablet or scan in? While I may sound cheap about not wanting to constantly buy cartridges or downloaded images, I'm not really cheap. I would pay $1,000.00 easy for the properly developed product. If nothing exists that won't keep you coming back to the dealer I'll (she'll) just have to wait. Thanks for any info!

  • @nunyadambizznezz

Seems the only reason they haven't developed that is to keep you coming back for more of their shapes, i.e. cartridges, or now maybe their own downloads. If Cricut doesn't open their machine to cutting shapes other than what they design and sell to you, another manufacturer will develop something that does. I always beware of products that you must always keep purchasing something from the manufacturer in order to use it.

  • @nunyadambizznezz what I was thinking would be the ultimate development for this thing would be the ability to load pretty much any image or say draw your own image to have the Cricut cut it. I don't see why that couldn't be a possibility. Photoshop software can identify images and cut around them why shouldn't this thing be able to do the same? I looked at them last year and decided that would be developed down the road so I waited to buy it for her......

  • Hello, just an uneducated husband shopping for his wife who has a question. I'm not bragging but money is not really a problem for us. Still, I don't like the idea of having to buy so many cartridges, etc. This gypsy looks like it's getting closer to the answer. I take it you can load all of your cartridge patterns on it and download more to it from online, something like an IPOD removes the need to carry or buy CDs? That's cool, a step in the right direction....but...

  • @DrunkBunny awhh yes thank you , i will be getting one for me soon

  • @xxMyamxx I just got a Cricut Expression, new in package factory sealed, off ebay for $167. Now I have to find something to do with my Cricut Personal :)
