My trip to North Korea. 2008-09-22: Arirang performance at the May-Day-Stadium in Pyongyang. See my trip report at http://vienna-pyongyang.blogspot.com. The whole trip from Austria (Europe) to Pyongyang was done by train via Russia.
hmm. This is nothing else like monstrous communist so - called 'entertainment' or 'celebration' (where there is really none of such indeed, it is only a self-projection of the ruling political party, which is not a true government but nothing else like a cheap Regime). North Korea is a still struggling surviving clone of what was the former GDR which finally failed and broke down in 1989. The same faith can be foreseen for North Korea...
It could create an impressment on people from Western countries, but I had participated at such monstrosity in Romania, for other beast, Ceausescu! It is horrible to put people, children in special, to do such things!
And you got permission to film because you did what?

I'd love to see them host an olympic opening ceremony although I doubt that North Korea will be hosting the games in the near future.

The pure number of people involved is staggering! This kind of performance would be expensive beyond belief in a Western country.

Donnerwetter, das ist ja wie bei den Olympischen Spielen - also was Großveranstaltungen betrifft, haben die sozialistischen Länder was drauf...
