Christopher Reeve in Road to Avonlea

Christopher Reeve, mainly known as his role as Superman, appeared as a guest star on the hit television series Road to Avonlea. Reeve played Robert Rutherford, a mysterious villian who follows his love interest to the small town of Avonlea. In this interview he discusses his role on the show, as well as his career in general.

Road to Avonlea ran for 7 seasons, and featured many big name guest stars such as Christopher Lloyd, Eugene Levy, Christopher Reeve, Ryan Gosling, Stockard Channing and Meg Tilly. It aired on the Disney channel in the US, and is sometimes refered to as Tales from Avonlea.

No actor has the unique looks and skills of Reeve except maybe Kerwin Mathews

Its wild i don't remem this ep. i think its funny after seeing that movie somewhere in time with doctor quinn medicine lady just the other day on tv.

@orlandobabe No Problem, you can watch the series from season 1 on youtube, the channel is xLarkRiseCandleford, the characters are fantastic (enjoy the show), it reminds me of R2Avonlea in some ways. I also completely agree Reeves will always be the best Superman- did not like the new Superman film, even with the fancy green screen effects(lol).

@orlandobabe I remember when Disney had good shows on as well :S 1980's and prior where fantastic, it's when reality television hit when television sunk to an all time low . If you like Road to Avonlea you might like Lark Rise To Candleford which is pretty good in terms of sets, costume designs and plots. I was shocked and glad that they where able to get Christopher Reeves in this series-I guess he knew a good tv show when he read the script.

@orlandobabe Agree with you, I grew up when Disney actually had good shows, I don't really have cable anymore so don't know whats on, hopefully am not missing anything. I just by DVD series of shows I really enjoy.
