  • @tubeorvalve Yes, this is from the BBC TV show, Jazz 625. Look for the footage on Legends of Jazz Guitar DVD Vol. 1 and 2, among other places.

@sseklof The Jazz Icons DVD is also excellent, but the Jazz 625 concert isn't on there.

I love this concert so much that I spent a few years transcribing every note. Best thing I've ever done. :)

  • hey guys, please don't fight :) youtube has so much potential to be a meeting place of the minds, why not make it that way?

  • all we need is a THUMB UP just like Wes!! =D

  • OK, I give up.

Can never play like this man.

Can Santa Claus provide a pair of hands like his for Xmas if you are very very good boy or girl or is such a gift not available?

    Please advise.

  • @AYFTracks: Alemic, kudos for following your own path, a musically-different one than your peers. I did the same as a young man and have never regretted my choice to listen to classic jazz, soul, blues, etc. while my peers were listening to rap or metal or whatever. It's like entering a secret and beautiful world, discovering all of the wonderful music of the past. That's how I feel about it, anyway. You can't go wrong with Wes, that's for sure.

  • @METALdude1195 yeah man, I got all of this mans records and as much of the videos as i could get my hands on...one of my fav guitar players... I like the metal scene too but this guys sound is cool as hell no matter what ur into if you have an ear for whats good

  • GENIAL, ESPETACULAR !!! Eu queria tocar assim !!!!

  • I don't really need to add anything to the other comments, but I want to just because Wes is so far beyond any other guitarist that it bears saying again. And the intro to his solo on this piece is ridiculous. I'm a pretty good player myself, but I couldn't get near Wes if I lived to be a thousand years old. Which is not likely.

  • Nossa!!! Esse timbre de acústica, essa linguagem com esse suing foi tudo o que eu sempre quis ouvir!!!!!!!!!!! Ele é o pai.

  • I mainly listen to metal, but this guy is a genius and his music is amazing. Sad he died young.

  • @sseklof Thank you! The book was definitely a labor of love. I'm very glad you're enjoying it. :)

  • Amazing!! This is what we may call the "rule of thumb" for jazz guitar playing.
